Week #1- Getting Settled

We still don't have internet at our apartment and won't until at least next Thursday, so we can't call on our Magic Jack phone or blog or email. We're using the computer at the office to write this. We are hanging in there the best we can with everything there is to learn and do; it is overwhelming to say the least. President Nicholas invited us to the Leadership council yesterday so he could introduce us to all the missionaries and bear our testimonies.
We drove around a bit last night to get the lay of the land. Today we have been pricing out GPSs since we're going to be driving around to the different apartments delivering furniture etc. We went to WalMart, Costco, and a BIG store similar to Costco called Canadian Premium Tire [don't let the name fool you, they sell everything].
We are getting 25 new missionaries on Tuesday who will need housing and cars and training. Next month we're getting 35 new missionaries. It will increase our mission from 160 to 250!!!!! Tons of work ahead for us.
Our apartment is on the ground floor of a three story building. It has two bedrooms
[one quite small we use for an office], a decent kitchen but both the stove and frig are apartment sized, and there's no garbage disposal [so sad]. The laundry is in a small room down the hall and costs $4.30 to wash/dry one load! The other night people somewhere above us partied until after 1 am. It sounded like we were in the same room-they must have been out on their small balcony.
One of our favorite things about our apartment is that we have a resident bunny. He likes the tall grass out by our car. He is gray now, but will turn white in the winter.
The couple we are replacing says they have seen deer in our back courtyard before. When we went over to the President's to make pancakes for the missionaries before their meetings on Friday we saw a gigantic hare hopping across their front lawn, and sister Nicholas told us she saw three coyotes in the back yard last winter [there is a golf course behind the mission home.
That's about it for now. We love you and miss you.
