Today was our stake
conference. The building was packed and they broadcast it to two other
locations as well. We heard testimonies in Japanese and Portuguese,
several nice musical numbers by a stake youth choir, talks by the counselor to
the Mission President, the Stake Patriarch, and members of the Stake
Presidency.
Some key points Elder Bryant and I gleaned from their messages:
Before we can help others effectively, we must be on higher spiritual ground ourselves.
We must not only BE good; we must DO good, because our religion is one of ACTION!
We were counseled to be more sensitive to other's needs and to reach out in friendship to those around us.
In conclusion, we
wanted to wanted to pass on an acronym that all of us should remember:
"dwysywd" [dawizzywood] "Do what you say you will do!"
Elder Bryant and I are
so happy to be serving here in Calgary together as representatives of our
Savior, Jesus Christ. We love Him and are so grateful for His teachings
and example and His Atoning sacrifce in our behalf.
We think of you often
and pray all is going well for you and your families.
Much love,
Elder & Sister
Bryant
Great truths! Thanks for sharing.
