Last week we went on a
P-Day outing with the Lawlers to a large Dinosaur Museum two hours away in
Drumheller. That area is full of pre-historic bones and the Royal Tyrrell
Museum has one of the largest collections of skelatal remains in the
world.
We spent several hours looking through all the exhibits. Then we drove to the Hoodoo Recreational Park to look at some very interesting rock/earth formations that resemble mushrooms. They were created over many years by wind/water erosion.
Along the way we passed a sign that said suspension walkway and decided to stop and take a look. It turned out to be a metal grate footbridge suspended by wires over a wide, churning river. We all walked out a ways on the footbridge when a big gust of wind caught the bridge and made it swing off to one side. We looked at each other, the churning water below and decided we'd seen enough and made a dash for the shore.
