It has always been a tradition in the Mission Office to put up a tree at Christmastime. We decided to focus our tree and decorations on the Savior in a gold motif.
We used gold ribbon and bulbs I bought at the dollar store, along with small, wooden, wreath-shaped photo holders I bought at Michael's for our decorations. I painted each wreath with gold paint. Then Elder Trim spray painted them with gold glitter and Sister Trim cut out various pictures of the Savior from our pass-along cards and we inserted them in the middle and hung them on the tree with gold ribbons.
The Trim's provided a golden Angel Moroni to top our tree along with a beautiful glass Nativity for underneath, lighted with twinkle lights. It turned out beautifully and looks quite spectacular, especially when the lights are off. We also bought several small poinsettia plants to add to the festive spirit.
At this time of year our thoughts turn to the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. But it is not just His birth we should always remember, but His life and His mission as the author of the Plan of Salvation and Happiness, our Advocate with our Father in Heaven, and as the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind through His Infinite Atonement. How everlastingly grateful we are to Him!
So beautiful both the tree and the sentiment! Have a very Merry Christmas.
