Recent Converts to the Church here in Alberta

We've been trying to think of something to share with everyone that would be of interest and as I was typing up some recent baptisms I got an idea......

We've mentioned before that Calgary and the Province of Alberta is very diverse ethnically and our recent converts are certainly proof of that.  They come from all over the world--many different countries and races.  Here are just a few interesting examples:  Karunanayaka - Sri Lanka; Kernyang siblings-Sudan; Kisabo - Tanzania; Li-China; Odusola - Nigeria; Onoferychuk - Cambodia; Ouellette - France; Pillado - Chile; Pindou - Congo; Presilda - Phillipines; Salas - Mexico; Starowicz - Poland; Taulapapa - Somoa; Yuan - China; Jesus - Guatemala; Messiah - Mozambique Africa [who knew?]; Siguardson - Netherlands; Dak - Cambodia;  Desriveau - France;  Dotts; and then there are the 1st Nation people [ like Native Americans only 1 better]:  Bloods; Big Bull; Bruised Head [for real]; Yellow Fly;
 Gallup; Goldies; and the Bunney Family.

No matter what their names or where they're from, these brothers and sisters have found their way to our Savior Jesus Christ and entered the waters of baptism to demonstrate their allegiance to Him.  They are wonderful, sincere people; we are so grateful to have this opportunity to meet them and welcome them in to our gospel family.

So far the weather has remained quite mild, mostly in the high 70's and low 80's; we're very grateful for that.  Having longer daylight hours has been nice, too, though we've
noticed it is getting dark earlier now.

We are still working long hours in anticipation of our next batch of 33 missionaries which arrive on the 27th.  Thankfully, Elder Bryant has managed to find sixteen new  housing units [the most of any transfer in the Mission].  Most will also need the bedsets and furnishings we have gathered up.

I have been making flight arrangements for  the Arrivals & Departures and putting together 33 New Arrival folders, as well as entering and submitting the 28 baptisms we had in July to Salt Lake.

We have been alone in the office again all this week while the other senior couple went south with the President for Zone Conference in Lethbridge.  Miraculously, we survived and the earth didn't come to an end [but it did tremble a little on it's axis].

We think of you often and miss the opportunity to visit with you in person and take part in family activities, but we are happily engaged in a good work and know we
are where we are supposed to be at this moment in time.

Much love to all,
Elder and Sister Bryant
